In the end I didn’t get to the island of Janitzio, first pic, one of the most sought after destinations for Day of the Dead, because the crowds are just crazy these days but we went to one of the smaller island on Lake Patzcuaro, Yunuen where we saw these fisherman doing a traditional rhythmic dance with outsize fishing nets. A tourist spectacle for sure but still moving.

The absolutely spectacular display round the graves of the cemetery at Tzintzuntzan last night - surely one of the wonders of the world. Utterly spell-binding

Absolute feast @maizajo today - with @richardhartbaker and @raretealady. Left it to them to order as a result can’t fully recollect what we ate but it included this sublime shrimp taco, ceviche and some absolutely delicious octopussy kind of thing. (Yes there was mezcal but only one. Honest. (It was lunchtime). Put it on your hitlist if you come to CDMX.
